Josh Thompson To Perform at Field & Stream’s 2014 Heroes of Conservation Awards September 17th
Nashville, TN – Show Dog-Universal Music recording artist Josh Thompson will join Field & Stream, the world’s leading outdoor magazine, to perform at their ninth annual Heroes of Conservation Awards. Thompson will help the magazine celebrate their Heroes of Conservation program, which is dedicated to honoring volunteers involved in grassroots projects that protect and maintain fish and wildlife habitats across the country.
The Heroes of Conservation finalists will be celebrated at a gala event in Washington, D.C., on September 17th, where each will be presented with a $5,000 grant. One honoree will be named Field & Stream’s Conservation Hero of the Year and will be awarded a new Toyota Tundra, courtesy of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., the program’s exclusive sponsor since its inception.
Thompson, an avid outdoorsman, is a natural fit to perform at the invitation-only event. Prior to launching his country music career, the Wisconsin native spent 9 months living off the land as part of a wilderness survival course and earned a degree in natural resources.
“I'm proud to be a part of Field & Stream's Heroes of Conservation program this year. The outdoors have always been such a large part of my life,” says Thompson. “Whether I'm hunting, fishing, or just hanging in my tree stand, that's where I can be found when I'm not on the road. It's great to recognize the honorees and all of their important accomplishments in conservation.”
Thompson’s set will include his current single “Wanted Me Gone” and “Cold Beer With Your Name On It” from his sophomore Turn It Up release, as well as previous hits “Beer On The Table” and “Way Out Here,” among others.
