Country Star Trace Adkins visits Portland to help raise money for NashvilleCountry music star and former "Celebrity Apprentice" finalist Trace Adkins dropped into a damp Portland this morning to raise money for a flooded Nashville
"It is bad, but we'll get through it and be okay," said Adkins, who signed autographs and took pictures with fans for an hour outside the studios of local country station 99.5 FM (The Wolf). Listeners were invited down to meet the star for a minimum donation of $5 to relief efforts for country music's home city, which was devastated by flooding last month.
Portland area fans started lining up outside the station studios as early as 6:30 a.m. for their chance to meet the country star, who will be back to Portland for a show with Toby Keith in July. In addition to taking pictures, Adkins signed everything from a hubcap to a pair of bull horns.
"I've got seven minutes to get to work. But it's worth it," said a female fan who showed up to get a picture with the singer. "I mean, he's just gorgeous!"
Even better looking was the guitar case full of cash from a rainy city that Adkins will be taking back to a town that's trying to dry out.
